Turning 11 and how times flies

In light of the recent pandemic and our field staff working tirelessly over the year, the Management team across the Axela Group wanted to give something back to our carers and what better way to start off the new school year by providing backpacks to the children of our staff aged from five years to fifteen.

A study by LSE and the University of Exeter found that pupils in England missed out on 61 school days during the course of the pandemic; when there are normally 190 days in a school year. Whilst children have already lost time away from the classroom and being away from their friends we wanted to equip the children with a school bag filled with school essentials to give them the best start to the academic year ahead.

Whilst prepping the bags, it brought back memories for some of our staff who remember their first day back at school and how excited they were to start school.  David, our Financial Director said " It's fantastic being able to support our carers with the expense of getting their kids ready for the new school year. It's such an expensive time and they can often struggle with all the ever increasing costs".

The management team understand for parents it can be stressful when it comes to a new school year, from thinking about school new uniform to schoolshoes etc, we wanted to ease the burden.

Included in the school backpack is a water bottle, a bumper stationary pack which includes a notepad and ring binder, a reading or puzzle book, a multisensory toy and a £40 gift voucher amongst other things.

A little goes a long way, and the team have already received sweet notes from the kids who have already started to make use of their new schoolessentials!
